wrote over 3 years agoIsn't this statement a bit presumptious? Debt increased ~$5T under Bush. Obama's stimulus plan is going to be ~$1T. In theory, it will create wealth. Hypothetically, let's instead say that instead of the money going to this stimulus plan that we buy a keg, stack the rest of the cash in a pile and have the mother of all bonfires. Obama would still have a looong way to go to catch Bush and the only people who don't think he'll end up eventually raising the income tax rate on annual earnings above ~$250k are paranoid liberals who think he is a Republican in disguise. I'm going to have to disagree as not only do I not think it will guarantee anything, I don't even think it's likely.

My gut says YES and my head says I really don't understand the implications of it.

Ha, good point. I meant good for the Republicans.

I agree that some in the media have been unfairly and distastefully attacking Palin's family. At the same time, I, perhaps cynically, believe that the McCain campaign is pushing Palin's daughter and boyfriend into the media spotlight to continue to take the focus of the media away from the issues, which McCain is losing badly on if you believe the polls.

Now that the court has spoken, what are the Republicans going to use as a wedge issue against the Democrats? :)

Surely continuing to believe in an antiquated political system is punishment enough. It's not the state's business to force people to change their political beliefs to maintain their employment.

Government should penalize businesses that commit crimes. Misleading people isn't always against the law.

Haha, come on you never know. I'd be all for a real-life Adblock Plus but until then.
Do political parties not disagree about gun control issues?

In the U.S. they should, I don't know about other countries.
...and it must be a raging socialist's world.

I don't know if the current President has extra powers that others did not to create an imbalance. So I don't know.
I believe that all communications in the White House regarding government should be recorded and archived but I don't know if they should be made public just because someone believed that fraud occurred. So I agree with the sentiment but I disagree with the conclusion.

Aside of what the founding fathers thought or what is legally defined, the issue is if you think Democracy (in general) is best served by a strict separation.

I agree, if a bar owner wants to take the risk of allowing smoking and losing the non-smoking crowd and vice versa that should be their prerogative.

I don't think they mean free as in conjured out of thin air but meaning free to the student and therefore paid by for by the government (public). That could just mean government subsidizing private health care.
I can't disagree with any of that but that doesn't mean that I'm not okay with some government bureaucracy & redistribution of wealth (socialism) towards a common good.
